Anybody catch this on the DVR? Apparently one of the computers used for projection during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics crashed, which put a Blue Screen of Death up for a second or two. Ouch. Another good reason to use Linux for mission critical applications. Gizmodo has the full story.
I suppose you could make the argument that any place besides the bottom of a lake would be a bad place for Windows, but this article has ten of the worst. I’ve seen blue screens on the arrival/departure screens at airports before, so I know he’s not kidding. It’s sad, really. My favorite one is the kiosk computers that had to be scripted to reboot every night or else they would crash on their own.
