  • It is understandable.? Isaiah 35:8; Matthew 11:23
  • It is comforting.? Matthew 5:4; II Corinthians 4:4; Hebrews 13:5-6
  • It is encouraging.? Philippians 4:11,13; Romans 8:31
  • It is powerful.? Romans 1:16; Hebrews 4:12; I Corinthians 15:1
  • It can save the soul.? James 1:21; Matthew 19:29; I John 2:25
• Though it is so glorious, it will benefit you nothing except you believe it and obey it.

  • Body – flesh
  • Soul – life force
  • Spirit – that which is in the image of God
• That which is natural
  • By birth (innate)? Galatians 4:8
  • By environment? Romans 2:14; I Corinthians 11:7
  • By disposition? Philippians 2:20; I Corinthians 2:14
• The heart of man
  • Intellect – Proverbs 4:23; Matthew 15:7; Mark 2:8
  • Will – Romans 6:16
  • Emotions – Matthew 22:37; Proverbs 6:16-17
  • Conscience – I John 3:20-21
• So, what is the nature of man?
  • He is a triune being.
  • He does things by nature.
  • Man is heart.
• Does man have a corrupt nature?
  • No, it is not innately corrupt.
  • Yes, in the sense of being influenced by environment and disposition.
• Man does inherit some things from Adam.
  • Appetites, desires
  • Free agency
  • Physical death
• Man does not inherit a corrupt nature from Adam.
• If one has a corrupt nature, it is what he has become.? Romans 3:12
