- Biblical principles relating to money:
- Like many material possessions, money itself is not evil.? It is the love of money which is forbidden.? I Timothy 6:10; Proverbs 16:8,11,16? Do I have the money or does the money have me?
- One cannot love God and worldly riches at the same time.? Matthew 6:24, 19:23-34
- The most important principle to remember when it comes to money is stewardship.? God will hold us accountable for the proper handling of our finances.? I Peter 4:10?- Consider the parable of the talents also!
- Managing money can be a special challenge to the Christian living in America because material wealth abounds.? The accumulation of money is viewed as the sign of success.? The Bible warns of this danger.? Proverbs 11:4; Matthew 6:19-21; Luke 12:15; I Timothy 6:9
- I Timothy 6:6-8?- At death, the rick man and the poor man both take with them the same thing – not one red cent!
- Romans 8:38-39?- You could lose every last cent and still be a Christian.
