• Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:28?- Christ promised to build His church and then purchased it with His own blood.
• Ephesians 4:5; I Corinthians 12:27?- There is one body.
• Ephesians 1:23; Colossians 1:18?- The body is the church.
• Therefore, there is one church that Christ built.
• Some claim that John the Baptist started the church.
  • If started before Christ’s death…
    • Acts 20:28?- It would be a church that was not blood purchased.
    • Ephesians 1:19-23?- It would be a church without a head.
    • I Corinthians 3:11; Acts 4:11-12?- It would be a church without a foundation.
    • Matthew 16:20; Luke 24:46-49?- It would be a church in which Christ could not be preached.
    • Ephesians 5:23?- It would be a church that Jesus does not save.
• The time, place, and who will lead one to the right place.

  • Why would one want to be a member of a church that was started at the wrong time, the wrong place, by the wrong man, and in which salvation is not promised?
