  • John 3:16; I Timothy 2:3-4; II Peter 3:9; Titus 2:11
  • That which God requires one to understand, he can understand.
    • We must put forth effort to understand.
    • John 8:43?- One must have a disposition to hear the word of God.
  • That which God requires one to believe, he can believe.
    • Hebrews 11:6
    • We must believe in the resurrection of Jesus.
    • We must believe that the new covenant is God’s directive for our lives.
  • That which God requires?one to do, he can do.
    • God requires us to believe, repent, confess, be baptized, grow, teach, give according to his prosperity, and live faithfully.
  • That which God requires one to be, he can be.
    • I Peter 1:16?- We?can be holy.
    • Ephesians 3:21?- We can be a light to the world.
    • God requires us to be Christians, and we can be Christians.

Precision Aerobatics Addiction

Now this is a cool little plane!? From what I’ve read, it has a thrust-to-weight ratio of about 2.5:1.? The pilot here has some very impressive skills.

Gordan Brown gets called out in Parliament

Wow, I don’t know much about this guy, but I like him already just from this clip.? Can we get him to come over here and tell Congress and Obama the same thing?? (Thanks for the link, Jo!)

See, helicopters are easy!

// March 25th, 2009 // Comments // Mark's stuff

RC helicopters are incredibly easy to fly.? Even a 4-year-old can do it!

It’s a little embarassing that at four years old, this kid could fly better than me.? Now that he’s six and a half, he REALLY flies better than I do:

Christ’s Church

By Jesse Jenkins

March 15, 2009

  • Ephesians 5:22-33
  • Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:28?- Christ promised to build His church and then purchased it with His own blood.
  • Ephesians 4:5; I Corinthians 12:27?- There is one body.
  • Ephesians 1:23; Colossians 1:18?- The body is the church.
  • Therefore, there is one church that Christ built.
  • Some claim that John the Baptist started the church.
  • The time, place, and who will lead one to the right place.
    • Time – Place – Who – What
    • 1530 – Germany – Luther – Lutheran
    • 1534 – England – Henry 8th – Episcopal
    • 1535 – Switzerland – Calvin – Presbyterian
    • 1607 – England – Smythe – Baptist
    • 1739 – England – Wesley – Methodist
    • 1830 – New York – Smith – Mormon
    • 1914 – Arkansas – Group – Assembly of God
    • 30-33 – Jerusalem – Christ – Christ’s church
  • Which of the foregoing fits the facts?
  • Was this congregation started on Pentecost in Jerusalem?
    • No, but the teaching and practice of this congregation were.
    • The local Mormon church was not started in 1830 in New York, but its teaching and practice were.
    • To be a Mormon church, a local church must conform to the teachings of the Mormon church.
    • Just so to be a church of Christ, a local church must conform to the teaching that started on Pentecost in Jeruslem by Chirst.
  • Jesus saves the church.
    • It took centuries for the old covenant to unfold it.
    • It took the Son of God, the life He lived, and the death He died to build it.
    • It took the Holy Spirit to reveal it.
    • It too the apostles to lay the foundation.
    • It takes faith in and obedience to their preaching to build on the unshakable foundation.
    • Why would one want to be a member of a church that was started at the wrong time, the wrong place, by the wrong man, and in which salvation is not promised?
