Eyes vs. Cameras

Here’s an interesting little article I came across that compares human eyes to photographic equipment in terms of field of view, resolution, aperture, ISO, etc.? Very interesting reading.? What’s most impressive is the dynamic range that the eye can see – it’s WAY more than any camera system can match, which is why so many photographs don’t turn out like your eyes think they should, especially in harsh lighting.

Ack!? Apparently the Stig from Top Gear had his identity revealed.? Bummer.? It’s cool to find out who’s been in the suit all this time, but apparently there’s a clause in his contract that requires he be fired once his identity is revealed.? The video from Fast Lane Daily below has the scoop.

In our text, there are several things involved in pure religion.
- Self control (James 1:19)
- Purity (James 1:21)
  - I Timothy 4:12?- be a good example
  - Matthew 5:16?- let your light shine
- Reception of truth (James 1:21)
  - Isaiah 55:11?- hear the word of the Lord
  - Luke 7:30?- many did not receive truth
  - Hosea 1:6 – God rejects those who reject Him
- Meekness (James 1:21)
  - Being angry at the right things at the right time and not at the wrong things at the wrong time.
- Obedience (James 1:22)
  - Colossians 3:6?- the importance of obedience
- Steadfastness (James 1:25)
  - II Peter 1:5-11
- Control of tongue (James 1:26)
  - James 3:8?- The tonque is an unruly evil
  - Colossians 4:6?- Let your speech be with grace.
- Compassion and care for the needy (James 1:27)
- Keep self unspotted from the world (James 1:27)
  - II Peter 3:14? – Be without spot and blameless.
James 1:18?- Christians are to live like this.
John 3:5?- We must be born of the water and the spirit.

Times past:? God winked at sin (Romans 1:24)
- Now:? God demands repentance.
How will you react to your sins?
- Some deny that there is such a think as sin.
- Some lie to cover up sin.? II Kings 5:20-27
- Some blame others.? I Samuel 13:11-14
- Obey God and repent.? Acts 2; Proverbs 28:13
The reason to repent:
- Judgment is coming.
- Two motives to get us to repent.
  - Hell
  - Heaven

Sorry for the downtime folks.? Last week the server started having hardware problems that ended up with a motherboard failure (actually, it was the IDE controller on the motherboard, which pretty much kills the whole machine).? So I now have an entirely new computer sitting under my desk keeping all the services running.? On the positive side, the new computer runs cool, doesn’t pull much power, and is extremely quiet.? I think all the main services (mail, web site, Jabber) are up and running now.? Please let me know if you see any problems.
