  • Genesis 4
  • Sin is crouching at the door (Genesis 4:1-7)
    • What is true for Cain is true for us also. Sin is crouching at our door.
    • James 1:13-16 – God’s warning to us about sin.
    • Ephesians 4:17 – Put on the new man.
    • Romans 1:24 – God forsakes the wicked.
  • Cain’s worship was evil. I John 3:11-12
    • Hebrews 11:4 – Cain’s sacrifice was not of faith
    • Acts 17:30 – Just worshipping is not enough – we must do it in the right way.
    • Isaiah 1:11-17 – We can’t expect to live sinful lives and worship acceptably.
  • God is fair
    • Genesis 4:8-15 – God avenges Abel’s death, but does so fairly.
    • Colossians 4:1 – We should be fair in our dealings.
    • God was fair to Cain even in the punishment He dealt him.
    • Romans 5:1-5 – God provides a way of salvation
